Tteokbokki (Topokki)



600g tteokbokki

1 chopped cabbage

1 carrot in strips

1 onion in strips

2 chopped green onions

Sunflower oil or rice oil

2 1/2 cups dashi broth (2g)

Sesame for garnish

For the sauce

3 tbsp. gochujang

2 tbsp. honey

1 tbsp. Brown sugar

1 tbsp. soy

1 tbsp.  garlic puree


1.Soak the rice cakes in lukewarm water for 10 minutes and strain.

2. Add brown sugar, honey, soy, garlic and Gochujang in a bowl and mix well.

3. In a saucepan add 2 1/2 cups water and 2 gr dashi, as soon as the broth boils, add the sauce you have prepared. Put on medium heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

4. Then add the rice cakes and vegetables (except the spring onion) and cook for 6 minutes, stirring constantly.

5. Finally add the spring onion and stir until the sauce becomes viscous.

6.Remove from the heat and garnish optionally with sesame oil, sesame seeds, spring onion or boiled egg!
